Reviews van de Sony 32W4000. Lijkt op 1e gezicht top tv van Sony. Prijs momenteel €917 euro.

Review 1 staat op HDTVorg:
Sony ligt niet meer zvoor op concurrenten als vroeger

The problem for Sony is that other manufacturers have improved apace, with
the likes of Samsung and Panasonic producing LCD TV's that are approaching
Plasma levels of black performance. The KDL-32W4000 is still excellent in this
respect, just off the pace of the leading pack, but only just.

Positief zijn wel scherpte van de beelden:

Maintaining its composure with fast sporting action is possibly the most impressive aspect of the 32W4000's performance. Freeze frame a long punt of a football during a match reveals an almost perfectly spherical ball suspended above the pitch. No trace of motion blur or ghosting reveals a TV which is one of the best we have tested for fast motion action. Of course, the relatively small 32in screen helps, and it will be interesting to see how the 40in model compares.

Conclusie:

Sony have created a flat panel TV that is very good in most areas and excellent in some.

Review 2 is afkomstig van Techradar

Analoge tv lijkt niet geschikt voor de 32w4000.

Brace yourself: this Sony's Freeview pictures are dreadful.

Vrij lekker begin van een review. HD Materiaal ziet er volgens Techradar erg goed uit, maar al met al niet de beste keus voor mijzelf momenteel.

Sony is between two stools with the KDL-32W4000. Freeview viewers will be
disappointed. But, if you're over your Freeview phase and have embraced SkyHD
you won't need to use the XrossMediaBar to its full extent. Ultimately, a superbly integrated performance with a Blu-ray player, fabulous hi-def pictures, and a transparent glass design is too much for us to ignore. Go on, wrestle the remote from us.

Panasonic LCD TV

Er zijn verschillende 32 inch Panasonic LCDs die tot de mogelijkheden behoren:

TX-32LX700 (€848) (HD Ready)
TX-32LZD80 (€834) (Full HD)
TX-32LZD85 (€940) (Full HD)
TX-32LX80 (€533) (HD Ready)
TX-32LX85 ( €730) (HD Ready)

Vooral de 32LX700 krijgt goede cijfers op kieskeurig en is uitgeroepen tot best gereviewde item van augustus 2008. De Panasonic TX-32LX700 LCD TV was het luxe model van de VIERA serie maar was al vanaf mei 2007 leverbaar. Oudje dus.

LZD80/85 en de LX80/85 zijn de 2008 modellen. Van deze modellen zijn de LZD modellen Full HD verder bevatten ze een ingebouwde DVB-T tuner. De 85 versie bevat 100 Hz technologie en de 80 versie niet.
Gebaseerd op specs lijkt de 32LZD85 de beste keus, maar die is ook het duurste. Het is 1 van de weinige 32 inch tv´s met full hd en 100hz. Zapsnelheid schijnt irritant te zijn volgens een kieskeurig recensie
Het enige minpuntje is de trage afstandbediening. Het duurt even voordat hij
overschakelt naar een andere zender

Zou kunnen gaan irriteren ben ik bang.
Een tweede minpuntje is dat bij snel bewegende beelden een knipperend effect te zien is volgens CNET review.

Fast patches of movement, such as the ball following a goal kick or
long clearance in the Champions League final, can suffer with a slight
flickering effect

Voor de rest is de image processing erg goed. Denk dat het knipperende effect wel zal meevallen. Klinkt als kleinigheidje.

Significantly, the 32LZD85 carries two separate processing systems
devoted to making motion look sharper with anything you watch: 100Hz and Motion Focus. Having watched the Champions League final on the set, we can confirm that these two systems do a cracking job. The players looked pin-sharp as they charged around, but crucially, this motion sharpness was achieved with precious little in the way of negative processing side effects. Excellent.
In fact, the 32LZD85's pictures are so sharp that they suggest 1080p resolutions can make a difference at the 32-inch screen size level after all.

Samsung LE32A558

Over het nut van Full HD op 32 inch het volgende~

We know there are a few cynics out there who don’t reckon there’s much point having a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel count in a TV as small as 32in. But we reckon there really can be visible differences in the way high quality Full HD 32in sets can present the UK’s 1080-line HD sources, so we’re always happy to see them. Provided, that is, they also do well at getting around the traditional Full HD weakness when it comes to showing standard definition.

Nog steeds niet helemaal duidelijk dus...
Blijkbaar zijn ze niet helemaal tevreden over de test resultaten:

However, you’ll have noticed that we didn’t exactly rave about the 32A558’s
motion or black level handling. This is because of advances in those areas made
by one or two recent sets from other brands. This means I’m now slightly more
aware of the 32A558’s soft look to rapidly moving objects, especially when
watching standard definition, and slightly more aware of a touch of greyness in
dark areas on the 32A558 than I was when I saw the 32A656

Helaas geen melding welke 1 of 2 andere sets ze dan bedoelen... Sony? Panasonic? Philips?
Analoge beeld kwaliteit is matig, maar met moeite wel aan te passen.

The set’s standard definition is fair to middling by Full HD TV standards.
Things look rather noisy using the same picture settings that favour HD
material, but careful manipulation of the noise reduction and backlight settings
improves things to the point where standard def becomes at least passably
enjoyable.

Minimale prijs momenteel €761
Al met al is de LE32A656 een betere keuze, 8 euro duurder, betere kwaliteit.

HD Ready of full hd

In het Belgische blad HUMO staat een interview met Eric Beeckmans van het home entertainment magazine FWD.

HD Ready of Full HD?

Daar kan ik nog duidelijker over zijn: ik raad iedereen full hd aan, zeker
voor een scherm dat groter is dan 32 inch. De officiële benaming van full hd is
overigens 'HD Ready 1080p': een tv met een hd ready-logo heeft een resolutie van
minstens 720 lijnen; bij full hd is dat 1080 lijnen. Op een klein scherm zie je
haast geen verschil - bij hele kleine tv'tjes wordt er zelfs geen full hd
aangeboden. 32-inch - nog altijd het meest populaire formaat bij ons - is een
randgeval.

Goede weergave van analoog materiaal

minpuntjes:

Reflectie van lichtbronnen door "Ultra Clear Panel"
Beetje input lag

Al met al vrij positief voor een review. Laagste prijs momenteel: €769

Ikzelf ben al een aantal maanden op zoek naar een nieuwe tv. We hebben namelijk nog steeds een 12 jaar oude Grundig tv, die toch een paar kleine gebrekjes begint te vertonen.

De afstandsbediening wordt met plakband bij elkaar gehouden (al hebben we vervanging gekregen van vrienden die dezelfde tv hadden, maar recentelijk ontploft is, (ook niet geruststellend)).
Op sommige zenders begint een blauwe gloed presentatoren van links te beschijnen.
Balken onder en boven het beeld worden toch wel irritant
Zenders beginnen ook boven, onder, links en rechts balken te publiceren, waardoor effectieve beeld wel erg klein wordt.

Nu is het moeilijk een keuze te maken voor een nieuwe LCD/Plasma tv. Veel verschillende types elk met voors en tegens. Dit zal ik op dit blog proberen bij te houden met al het wikken en wegen wat erbij hoort.
